About the
Instructor
|
|

Sifu Donna Morgan specializes in Yang Tai Chi for
health and relaxation and Chi Kung energy breathing exercises to harmonize
mind, body and spirit. Other programs offered are Xing Yong 8 Animal Kung
Fu and traditional Chinese weapons. Her instructor is Master Scott Winokur, founder of the Midwest Chinese
Martial Arts Center and president of the USA Xing Yong Chinese
Martial Arts Association (USAXCMA).
Sifu Morgan believes that Tai Chi Chuan and Kung Fu
can benefit everyone - young, old, male, female - by promoting physical and
emotional health and the development of chi energy. All programs that she
teaches can be modified to incorporate the specials needs of any student,
such as the elderly and the disabled. She uses traditional Chinese
principles in a modern approach to make the programs readily accessible to
all students.

Why are Weapons Taught?
|
|
Sifu Morgan practices and teaches many rare Chinese
weapons. Some of these are the 6' staff, double escrima
sticks, broadsword, spear, yi gi
kwan (nunchuku),
straight sword, cane, wind and fire wheels, daggers, kwan
dao, butterfly knives, and many others. Weapons
can be an extension of the martial arts student's own body and teaches them
how to extend their control and energy to an object (or two) in their
hands. Moving the weapons with precision ensures safety and teaches the
student focus and accuracy, which are fundamental to any martial arts
education.
