The ancient practice
of Tai Chi Chuan, an internal style of Chinese martial arts, is an amazing
healing art, based on the principles of relaxing the body, and reducing
the stress and anxiety brought about by daily living. It teaches mental
focus, while emphasizing coordination, balance, relaxation, and proper
breathing. The health effects include strengthening the body's bone structure,
toning the muscles, increasing cardiovascular circulation, and flushing
the body's lymphatic system of toxins. The movements can enhance the body's
blood circulation and metabolism. When practiced properly, Tai Chi Chuan
can be an effective form of self-defense. |

What
is Chi Kung?
|
|||||||||||
Similar to yoga, Chi Kung circulates the chi energy throughout the 12 major organs of the body. The movements are postures that help strengthen the energy flow of the body based on the person's breathing. When the chi energy of a person runs low, the body becomes susceptible to sickness and disease. In Tai Chi and most Kung Fu and Karate styles, some type of Chi/Ki training is utilized in order to strengthen the inner body.
